Description
Start by sketching any closed, random shape—nothing specific, just let your hand move freely. Keep the shape fairly narrow, about 1–3 centimeters thick from edge to edge. Once you’re happy with it, begin filling the shape with a single, even tone. Take your time and build up the value gradually so the shading looks smooth and consistent—no uneven patches or streaks. Remember to keep the edge clean and sharp. If things get a little messy, use an eraser to tidy up. The goal is to create a perfectly flat, even tone with crisp, well-defined edges.
Steps
- Draw a random closed shape.
- Fill it in with one solid, even value.
- Keep your shading neatly inside the lines.
- Make sure you end up with a smooth, flat tone and sharp, clean edges.
