Rest & Recovery Break

Description

Take a 2-minute break to rest your eyes, shake out your drawing hand, and gently stretch your wrist and shoulder. Regular rest intervals prevent fatigue and keep your focus sharp during long drawing sessions.

Steps

  1. Step away from the screen / canvas: Look at an object at least 20 feet away to relax your eye muscles.
  2. Wrist & Hand Stretches: Gently extend your arm forward and pull back on your fingers to stretch your forearm flexors and extenders.
  3. Shoulder & Neck Rolls: Roll your shoulders backward in smooth circles 5 times, then slowly tilt your head side to side.
  4. Hydrate: Take a sip of water and take deep, relaxed breaths.

Tips

  • Never skip rest breaks during long practice loops; fatigue degrades muscle memory accuracy.
  • Keep your grip loose when you resume drawing.
